Stuart wins stroke event and NTP

CAROL Stuart took home the honours when the ladies played a stroke competition at Heathcote Golf Club on Saturday.

Stuart won with a score of 92-18-74 ahead of runner-up Sue Green with 112-34-78. Stuart also won nearest the pin on the 18th hole.

The men also played a stroke competition on Saturday with Alan Stobaus winning division one with a score of 79-10-69, while Matt King won division two with 106-36-70.

Birdies went to: Kent Davies on the 8th and the 13th; John Morris on the 13th; and Andee Davidson on the 13th and the 18th.

Nearest the pins went to Andee Davidson on the 16th hole; and the winners on the 18th hole were: Andee Davidson in A grade; Phil Coleman in B grade and Terry Schiels in C grade. Balls were won by: Phil Coleman 71; Andee Davidson 71; Gerard Ellis 73; and Brian Stobaus 73.

In the men’s knockout, Andee Davidson and Tony Hunter teamed up to defeat Martin Sims and Steve Hudson 4-2.

■ THE stableford competition held on Tuesday, July 23 was won by Shane Morris who scored 36 points off a handicap of 11.

Ball winners were B. Morgan and J. Baker. Nearest the pin winner was J. Baker.

■ ON WEDNESDAY the ladies played a stableford with Dot Trott winning the competition scoring 32 points off a handicap of 27.

It was nice to meet Liz Denniston from Mount Alexander who put in her third card for her handicap.

■ THURSDAYS open stableford competition was won by Brian Davis who scored 37 playing off a handicap of 13 on a countback from Adrian King with 37 off a handicap of 14.

Birdies were won by John Dobie and Adrian King on the 2nd hole and Liam Anderson on the 8th. Ball winners were: Adrian King 37 off 14; Matt Bibby 36 off 16; Kent Davies 36 off 4; Liam Anderson 36 off 0; Doug Pratt 35 off 11; and Sean Burns 36 off 8. Kent Davies won nearest the pin.

Ladies are encouraged to come along on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Your card will be handicapped even if player numbers are low.
