ON EASTER Saturday, 82 men took part in a par event while 10 ladies took part in a Stableford event at the Axedale Golf Course, with the events sponsored by Bendigo Party Hire.

Men’s par event:

In division one, for handicaps of 0-14, the winner was Brian Retallick (14 h/cap, 3 nett). The runner-up was Wayne Mildren (12 h/cap, 2 nett) on a countback from Paul Pyke (6 h/cap, 2 nett), who also attained his position on a countback.

In division two, for handicaps of 15-18, the winner was Mike Fitzgerald (17 h/cap, 1 nett). Runner-up was Derek Higham (18 h/cap, 0 nett), while third place went to Andrew Watson (15 h/cap, 0 nett).

In division three, for handicaps of 19-22, the winner was Tony Gundry (19 h/cap, 6 nett). The runner-up was Robert Scott (21 h/cap, 2 nett). Third place went to Mick Purdon (19 h/cap, 2 nett).

In division four, for handicaps of 23-36, the winner was Ian Edwards (24 h/cap, 5 nett). The runner-up was Xavier Crone (29 h/cap, 0 nett). Third place went to Malcolm Bain (26 h/cap, -2 nett).

Ball Winners: Sheldon Carter 2, Ernie Lowndes 1, David Stephens 1, Peter Stewart 1, Steven Lee 0 and Glenn Morrison 0.

LADIES STABLEFORD EVENT:

Division one of the ladies was won by Anne McManus (45 h/cap, 40 nett) from runner-up Barbara Collins (44 h/cap, 39 nett).

Ball Winners: Mandy Hamilton 38 and Ros Yum 37.

Nearest the Pins (Men and Ladies):

First hole: Division one John Neylon; Division two Tony Gundry.

Third hole, second shot: Division one Rod Jacobs; Division two Annette Holmes.

Sixth hole (open): Kerry Moore.

Sixteenth hole Superpin (entries): Sam Bilardi.

Eighteenth hole: Division one Craig Simpson; Division two James McLean.

■ A TOTAL of 62 men took part in a Stableford event on Thursday, March 8 which was sponsored by Bendigo Bearings.

In division one, for handicaps of 0-15, the winner was Rod Taylor (13 h/cap, 37 points). Garry Harrop (10 h/cap, 34 points) finished in second place after a countback from Steven Lee (11 h/cap, 34 points).

In division two, for handicaps of 16-22, the winner was Peter Andrew (20 h/cap, 42 points). The runner-up was Len Rodda (18 h/cap, 37 points) on a countback from Mick Purdon (19 h/cap, 37 points).

In division three, for handicaps of 22-36, the winner was Eric Rogers (24 h/cap, 39 points). The runner-up was Robin Miller (28 h/cap, 35 points). Third place went to Mark Filan (26 h/cap, 33 points).
