A TOTAL of 24 mixed pairs took part in a mixed ambrose event at Axedale Golf Club on Saturday.

Also on the day, 62 men played in a stableford with both events sponsored by Bendigo Mazda.

Mixed ambrose event

The mixed ambrose event was won by Sue and Rob Minne who, playing off a handicap of 9.5 finished the day with a nett score of 63.5.

Joyce and Syd Spofforth paired up to take out the runners-up position, playing off a handicap of 15.25 to score 63.75 nett.

Third place, after a countback were Ros and David Yum, who played off a handicap of 12.5 to score 64.5 nett after a countback.

Kate and Garry Harrop took out fourth place, playing off a handicap of 11.5, the pair finished with a nett score of 64.5.

Ball winners: M. and R. Connelly (65.250) and C. and R. Jacobs (65.5).

Men’s stableford event:

In the stableford, division one for handicaps of 0-14, the winner was Rob Taylor (13 h/cap, 40 nett). The runner-up was Glenn Morrison (9 h/cap, 39 nett), while third place went to Peter Hoskin (7 h/cap, 38 nett).

In division two for handicaps of 15-18, the winner was Peter King (16 h/cap, 37 nett). The runner-up was Derek Higham (18 h/cap, 36 nett) on a countback from Ian Logan (17 h/cap, 36 nett).

In division three for handicaps of 19-36, the winner was Paul O’Sullivan (24 h/cap, 39 nett). The runner-up was Peter Andrew (19 h/cap, 38 nett), while third place went to Ernie Lowndes (21 h/cap, 36 nett).

In division two, for handicaps of 16-22, the winner was Peter Andrew (20 h/cap, 42 points). The runner-up was Len Rodda (18 h/cap, 37 points) on a countback from Mick Purdon (19 h/cap, 37 points).

In division three, for handicaps of 22-36, the winner was Eric Rogers (24 h/cap, 39 points). The runner-up was Robin Miller (28 h/cap, 35 points). Third place went to Mark Filan (26 h/cap, 33 points).
