A TOTAL of 63 men and 9 ladies took part in a stableford event at the Axedale Golf Club on Saturday, January 27. The event was sponsored by Smartline Ron Bradley.

Men’s event

In division one (handicaps of 0-14) the winner was Garry Harrop (10 h/c, 38 nett) on a countback from Roger Heider (7 h/c, 38 nett), while Glenn Laity took out third place honours (7 h/c, 37 nett).

In division two (handicaps of 15-18) the winner was Phillip Brookes (15 h/c, 39 nett) on a countback from John Miller (18 h/c, 39 nett). Third place went to Chris Atkinson (18 h/c, 38 nett).

In division three (handicaps of 19-36) the winner was Mick Purdon (20 h/c, 38 nett). The runner-up was Stephen Jeffrey (21 h/c, 37 nett) on a countback from Steve Johnson (23 h/c, 37 nett).

Ball winners:

Andrew McDougall (37), Bill Andrea (37), Fred Kath (36), Malcolm Bain (36), Peter Stewart (36) and Mark Fitzpatrick (36).

Ladies event: 4-Ball Stableford Aggregate

In the ladies event, division one, the winner was Annette Holmes (25 h/c, 72 nett). The runner-up was Mandy Hamilton (25 h/c).

■ A GROUP of 58 men played a stableford event at the Axedale Golf Club on Thursday, January 25, sponsored by Carley Advisory Services.

In first division (handicaps 0-15) the winner was Tom Phelan (12 h/c, 44 nett) on a countback from Rob Minne (14 h/c, 44 nett). Third place went to Peter Richardson (14 h/c, 42 nett).

In division two (handicaps 16-21) the winner was Braam Haasbroek (18 h/c, 44 nett). The runner-up was John Randles (21 h/c, 43 nett), while third place went to Alan Darby (20 h/c, 42 nett).

In division three (handicaps 22-36) the winner was John Geldart (22 h/c, 44 nett). The runner-up was Ian Kerr (27 h/c, 43 nett). Mark Kesper finished third (27 h/c, 40 nett).
