Stuart, Dunn combine for win

The newly formed combination of Carol Stuart and John Dunn, proved formidable, winning Friday's final of the mixed k/o at Heathcote Golf Club.

HEATHCOTE Golf Club men played a secret partners stableford event on Thursday.

Terry Shiels and Paul Rolfe with a 73 points total won from David Morris and John Blundell on 71.

Martin Sims shot the best individual score of 40 points including a birdie on the 14th.

Martin holed his approach shot with a three-wood from a position that lesser mortals would have deemed impossible.

NTP went to Son Quach; birdies went to John Dobie (2nd) and Adrian King (18th); while par balls went to David Morris and Terry Shiels.

The encouragement award was comfortably won by Brian Davis and Basil Kapoulitis.

On Friday, the two top qualifying pairs played the final of the mixed k/o.

After a tough match the newly formed combination of Carol Stuart and John Dunn emerged victorious 4/3 from Tristen Wearne and Larry Maxwell. Well competed all!

Congratulations to Carol and John on their win. This is John’s first board event and for Carol her second mixed pairs match-play success.

The concurrent stableford event was taken out by Phil Coleman with 36 points on a countback from Daniel Pianta and Bryce Pianta. Bill Ring won a ball in the run-down plus NTP and an 18th hole birdie. Adrian King also birdied the 18th.

Kyneton Golf Club hosted the Heathcote golf ladies for a friendly stableford round on Tuesday of last week.

A total of 21 players took part, including seven from Heathcote.

The best player from Heathcote was Carol Stuart (19) 35 points from Ann Bainbridge-Robb (22) 30.

The Kyneton winner was Jenny McSwain (30) 34 from Rob MacRae (25) 32. NTP winners for Heathcote were Carol Stuart and Anne Bainbridge-Robb. Kyneton NTPs were won by Marian Orr and Ruth Booker.

Balls went to Carol Stuart (35), Jenny McSwain (34), Rob MacRae (32), Lois Johnston (31), Ann Bainbridge-Robb (30) and Ruth Booker (30).

All of the ladies enjoyed the perfect day for golf that was topped off by a delicious lunch.
