Bowlers practice their skills

Seymour hosted practice matches against Heathcote lawn bowlers on Saturday.

HEATHCOTE lawn bowlers travelled to Seymour on Saturday to play the first of a number of practice matches in preparation for the upcoming pennant season.

Seven rinks played 20 ends with Heathcote winning three rinks and tying in one but unfortunately lost overall, 125 shots to 160. Heathcote’s best preformed rink was Greg Speirs (s), Ray Anderson, Brett Mathieson and Ilona Hutterer which won 28 shots to 22.

Social Bowls:

On Wednesday, in cool conditions and under threatening skies, 21 bowlers played three games of pairs and triples.

Two teams won the three games and on the points system the winners were Chris Cail (s) and Kelvin Hamilton (three wins, 44 points, +17 shots). Runners-up were Grant Baker (s) and Ilona Hutterer (three wins, 43 points, +13 shots) from Brian Taylor (s) and Marj Tattersall (two wins, 34 points, +5 shots). The jackpot was not won and will be $200 today.

Saturday, October 14: Practice match against North Bendigo at 1pm.
