Purple day, in memory of Georgia Edsall-French, saw a three-point difference on the final under 17s scoreline between Heathcote and winners Mt Pleasant.

ON A sunny but frosty Saturday morning at Pigeon Park, Heathcote’s under 17s took on Mt Pleasant in a special match to mark Georgia’s day (purple day) in memory of Georgia Edsall-French.

The Saints performed well in the first half, dominating the play, although they failed to capitalise on the score board.

The third quarter saw both teams play with great effort and it was a fairly even contest.

In the final quarter, Heathcote once again dominated the play, maintaining possession of the ball for about 75 per cent of the time, but ultimately they were unable to overcome the strong opposition displayed by the Mounts, going down by just 3 points.

Final score: Mt Pleasant 6.9-45 defeated Heathcote 6.6-42
