Leitchville-Gunbower proves too good

Leitchville-Gunbower came out on top of the scoreboard in the game against Heathcote under-17s on Saturday.

ON a sunny morning at Leitchville, Heathcote’s under 17 football side took to the ground with determination.

The Saints were switched on and exerted pressure on Leitchville-Gunbower in the first quarter.

However this was not reflected on the scoreboard. After the first quarter the Saints concentration wavered and they eased the pressure off the Bombers who made the most of it, playing some good footy and adding to their tally on the board.

While the Saints tried they were unable to overcome the Bombers who ran out 24-point winners.

Final Score: Leitchville Gunbower 9.12 (66) defeated Heathcote 6.6 (42).

Next week: Heathcote takes on third placed Mount Pleasant at Pigeon Park, Heathcote.

Best Players: Jordan Marcroft, Chayce Alexander, Lachlan Freeman-Taber, Zachary Schmidt, William Tobin and Jye Formosa.

Award winners were:

Connallys Player of the Week: Jordan Marcroft.

Leroys Backhoe and Plant Hire Award: Chayce Alexander.

The Oval Cafe Award: Lachlan Freeman-Taber.

Job Done Award: Zachary Schmidt.
