Coleman cleans up on course

Dot McGillivray took honours in the stableford event at Heahcote Golf Club last week.

SEVEN ladies played a stableford event at Heathcote Golf Club on Wednesday, with Dot McGillivray prevailing, scoring 30 points in a four-way countback.

Cathy Shaddock finished runner-up.

Thursday, June 29: A field of 25 men played a stableford round. Phil Coleman was victorious in division one with 37 points while Tony Hunter took out division two with 38 points on a countback from David Morris.

Ball winners were: David Morris 38, Joe Zurek 35, Willie Laird 34, Ron Blachford 33 and Alan Healy 33.

Par ball went to Willie Laird while Larry Maxwell took out NTP. A warm welcome was provided on the day to a new member Michael Paterson.

Saturday, July 1: A total of 28 ladies and men contested the monthly medal on a very white frost-covered golf course on Saturday morning.

Laurie Mueck was best in A grade with 78-9-69. Phil Coleman completed the weekly double with a win in B grade with 81-12-69 plus the monthly medal. Well played. Phil!

Garry Boyes round of 97-27-70 earned him the presidential suite in C grade. Ball winners were: Alan Healy 71, Martin Sims 72, Adrian Goudie 72, Ian Frost 73 and Alan Stobaus 73.

NTPs went to Alan Stobaus (13th), Adrian King (16th) and the 18th hole winners were Bryan Wearne (A grade), Adrian King (B grade and superpin), Alan Healy (C grade) and Tristen Wearne (ladies). Birdies went to Adrian Goudie (2nd), Garry Boyes (10th) and David Clouston (18th). Ian Furneauxs round of 111-22-89 included an impressive 14 at the 14th hole but was still insufficient to take out the encouragement award that went to John Mugavin’s 111-21-90!

Sunday, July 2: Five pairs enjoyed a 4 BBB stableford in perfect golfing conditions.

Phil Coleman continued his winning form partnering Adrian Goudie to take out first place with 43 points.

Kent Davies and John Dunn finished second with 40 points. NTP winners were Bryan Wearne (13th and 18th holes) and John Dunn (16th).

Thanks to the ton-up club: Many thanks to the ton-up club for their generous donation of timber for the garden beds adjacent to the 1st tee.

Mixed Knockout: A semi-final was played on Monday with Carol Stuart and John Dunn winning on the 19th hole from Dot McGillivray and Ian Furneaux.

Today: Ladies monthly medal, Grace Plane putting and Silver Spoon.

Tomorrow: Men’s mid-week monthly medal and 6th round of mid-week championships.

Saturday July 8: Ladies and mens stableford aggregate pairs.
