Heathcote's under 17 side prevailed over Huntly after a close contest.

HEATHCOTE’S under 17 football side took on Huntly at their ground on a fine day for football.

Both teams battled hard in the first quarter with an even contest early on.

In the second quarter, the Saints stepped up the pressure and only conceded a single goal.

After half-time the Saints came out firing, moving the ball around the ground efficiently and successfully hitting their targets. The result was an impressive five goals added to their score.

In the final quarter, the Saints struggled with their team work with too many players crowding the forward line, but despite this three goals were added to their score by the final siren, with Huntly only managing one goal and one behind for the entire match.

A fantastic effort which produced an outstanding result.

Final scores: Huntly 1.1 (7) lost to Heathcote 12.10 (82). Best players: Jack Brooks, Jake Featonby, James Creevey, Ben Mitchell, Teiryn Turner and Colin Humphrey.
